Qlik is at the forefront of bringing augmented intelligence even further into analytics, helping business users scale their ability to explore and surface key insights from all their data. As Qlik, together with partners, expands the role and use of analytics through customer organizations, it is apparent that making it easier for users to interact with data is essential to both increased adoption and higher data value. It’s what’s driven the development of Qlik’s augmented intelligence capabilities to date, evidenced by most recent updates to Qlik’s Insight Advisor in the November 2018 release of Qlik Sense.

Today Qlik expanded AI capabilities again, while also growing it’s existing natural language capabilities, with the acquisition of CrunchBot and the Crunch Data Inc. team of experienced AI and solution development professionals. These capabilities and resources will help enterprises further drive analytics adoption across their organization, and increase data’s value through conversation-driven interactions.

CrunchBot is available immediately from Qlik, and offers a conversational, natural language interface that can be accessed from within Qlik Sense as well as through popular collaboration tools such as Slack, Skype, Salesforce Chat and Microsoft Teams. The solution is built upon Qlik’s open API framework and the Qlik Associative Engine, and adds to the already powerful AI and natural language capabilities within Qlik Sense. Additionally, users can explore and ask questions of their data through voice interaction with integration to services such as Amazon Alexa.

Unlike standalone bots, CrunchBot uniquely works with Qlik to bridge the gap between visual discovery and conversational analytics. Because its built on top of our Associative Engine, users can ask questions and seamlessly dive directly into Qlik Sense apps based on the results, with the context retained. This approach offers the best of both worlds – allowing users to enter analytics conversationally, and then transition with ease to visual exploration for deeper understanding and discovery. And since CrunchBot is already a Qlik Trusted Extension Developer (TED) accredited solution, we can immediately offer a high quality and tightly integrated capability built using the same API framework as our core products.

Just as important is the value the Crunch Data team will bring to customers looking to spread the value of analytics throughout their organizations. Crunch Data’s team will be integrated into Qlik’s existing customer success organization, and brings a wealth of experience helping companies leverage AI to gain more value from their analytics investments.
